Waterfall Tour
Explore the greatest concentration of waterfalls in the continental United States Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Travel along the historic Columbia River Highway with stops at more than five major waterfalls, including the famous Multnomah Falls, which plunges more than 620 feet. Xtreme Mountain Bike Race
Join Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Sports at Soldiers Field House March 27 at 9 a.m. for the Xtreme Mountain Bike Race. There will be three categories of races: recreational, for the first-time rider who wants a more relaxed race (one lap on the 7.5K course); beginner, which is designed for the entry-level rider (two laps on the 7.5K course); and sport, which reflects improved skills and developed strength and stamina (four laps on the 7.5K course). Early registration deadline is March 17. Active military, military family members and military retirees are $5; DOD government employees are $10; other civilians are $20. Late registration deadline is March 24 — add $10 to the registration fee after March 17.

Lake Easton skiing
Combine short trails, rolling hills, groomed tracks and beautiful views, and Outdoor Recreation's trip to Lake Easton Sunday is the perfect way for cross country skiers of all skill levels to enjoy a great day in the snow. Whale watching
It's time for a Pacific Coast spring tradition; the California gray whales are beginning their migration to their summer feeding grounds in the Arctic, and you can enjoy watching them as they swim past. Ice skating

Hunter safety education course
Learn to safely handle hunting equipment, the importance of wildlife management and much more in Outdoor Recreations hunter safety education course April 12 to 17. Cost of the class is $10. This course is mandatory to hunt in the state of Washington. Class runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and begins at 8 a.m. Saturday. Preregistration is required. Cross country ski Lake Keechelus
Spend a great day in the snow-filled Cascades cross country skiing along Lake Keechelus near Snoqualmie Pass on March 20. The groomed trails make it an excellent place for skiers of all abilities. Mount Rainier Paradise excursion
Want to explore Paradise on your own, but don’t want to drive? Join Adventures Unlimited and head up to Mount Rainier for the day on Sunday. You’re on your own to sled in the snow park, take a guided snowshoe tour, or explore the new Paradise Visitor Center. Cost of the trip is $30, which includes transportation and the park entrance fee.
