Attend Military Retiree Dinner
The McChord Retiree Activities Office will host the 35th annual Military Retiree Heritage Dinner June 22, at the McChord Club and Community Center.
Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with seating for dinner at 7 p.m., featuring prime rib or baked salmon. Reservations required no later than Thursday by calling 253-584-1371. Special features include portraying military tradition and memories and a traditional commemoration of past RAO Volunteers. Get free online tutoring
Tutor.com, an online education assistance service, is offering help to children in military families at no cost.
Funded by the Department of Defense, the online tutoring company allows students enrolled in grades kindergarten through 12th to receive help in 20 core subjects in math, science, social studies and English. Access is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in an anonymous chat room setting with one of the companys 2,500 certified tutors.
The chat room is complete with an interactive whiteboard, the ability to upload and share files as well as a web browser for necessary research. For more information, visit www.tutor.com/military. Perform on open mic night

Dueling Pianos show at AFC Arena
The free Army Entertainment Dueling Piano show comes to the AFC Arena 2275 Liggett Ave. at Lewis Main today at 7 p.m. No tickets are needed.
Eat dinner while youre being entertained! The menu features barbecue pulled-pork sandwiches with coleslaw and potato salad for $7.25, and three Korean chicken tacos topped with spicy kimchee with a side of sweet pickled Daikon radish for $7.25. A cash bar is also available.
Participate in Virtual Town Hall

Enter inaugural Salmon Run
Sign up now for the first McChord Field Salmon Run 12K/5K. The Saturday event includes music from the Blackberry Bushes String Band, a salmon bake and door prizes, outdoor adventure trips and race gear.
Visit JBLMmwr.com/races to sign up. The cost is $15 for military-affiliated runners (race only) and $25 for runners with no military affiliation (race only).
Add $5 to each category for day-of-race registration. Registration for the free youth quarter-mile Chum Run is on race day.
For an additional cost, salmon meals may also be ordered online by Tuesday at noon when you register for the race. A limited number of meals will be available for purchase on race day.
Attend bodybuilding championship
Attend the 2013 JBLM Bodybuilding Championship tomorrow at Nelson Recreation Center at JBLM Lewis Main.
The championship features mens and womens open weight classes, mens masters and physique and womens figure.
Guest appearances include national-level competitor and 2010 Emerald Cup overall champ Joe Derousie, and national competitor Gerri Deach-Davis.

New hours at the Exchanges
The hours of operation for the Exchanges on both JBLM Lewis Main and McChord Field have changed. Outdoor Expo for military sportsmen
JBLM Lewis Main Exchange and more than 50 hunting and fishing guides, vendors and outdoor experts will host an outdoor expo for service members June 22 in the Exchange parking lot.
The Outdoor Expo, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., will allow service members to mingle with locals who share enjoyment of outdoor activities in the Northwest. Expo attendees are invited to free seminars given by 17 local hunting and fishing experts to chat, share information and develop contacts.
Representatives from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Project Healing Waters, along with more than 20 outdoor products manufacturers, guide services and vendors will have booths set up to answer questions and discuss their products.
The JBLM Outdoor Expo is open to all active duty, reserve, National Guard, military retiree and family members who have access to the installation.
Meet to form Army Golf Cup team
The annual Rainier Golf Cup challenge scheduled for June 21 to 23 is a modified Ryder Cup format with 40 members from the Army competing against the Navy and Air Force teams.
Army golfers are invited to attend a meeting Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Eagles Pride Golf Course to discuss the format and set up qualifying rounds to select the Army team. Call 253-967-6522 for more details.
Compete in womens rugby 7s
All Army Sports is adding womens rugby 7s to its calendar starting this year. The deadline for applications for athletes and coaches is Saturday. The competition is July 17 to 21 in Denver.

Golf scrambles are back
CGs Payday Scrambles are back at Whispering Firs and Eagles Pride golf courses.
If youre an ID cardholder, you and your friends can enter five-person scrambles on the following Fridays with a 1 p.m. shotgun start: Aug. 2 at Whispering Firs; today and Sept. 6 at Eagles Pride. The cost is $30 per person and includes your greens fee, cart rental and a chance to win prizes. You can enter as a team or be placed on a team if you enter individually.

Play at the Warrior Zone
Theres plenty to do at the Warrior Zone at Lewis North. Catch all the college and pro hoops in the Warrior Zone on your choice among 53 TVs. JBLM sustainable forests certified
Most of JBLMs forested lands have been certified since 2002 as a sustainable forestry operation by the nonprofit Forest Stewardship Council (http://us.fsc.org). JBLM was the first federal ownership in the U.S. to receive certification, demonstrating the installations commitment to forest management practices that consider environmental, economic, and social benefits and impacts in the context of military training. Certification lasts five years.

Post office open on Lewis North
The 593rd Sustainment Brigade and 22nd Human Resources Company have teamed to offer full postal services to units, service members and families on JBLM Lewis North. The Lewis North satellite post office in Building 12324 at 19th Street and 32nd Division Drive, is open to everyone with JBLM access, offering sale of stamps and money orders; standard post office supplies including flat rate boxes, express envelopes and customs forms. It accepts delivery of all categories. The post office accepts cash or credit cards. Open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed weekends, DONSAs and federal holidays. Put down that cell
Law Enforcement personnel are issuing district court violation notices for using cell phones while driving on JBLM.This will require the violator to pay a $75 fine or go to court to argue before the magistrate judge. Those who opt to continue using cell phones while driving must use a hands-free device to avoid a ticket. Repeat offenders risk losing installation driving privileges.
