Transitioning service members are encouraged to learn more about one of the largest employers in the Northwest — Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air — at the American Lake Conference center Tuesday from 3:45 to 7 p.m.
The event is part of Alaska Airlines’ hope to increase the number of veterans it employs. This event will allow interested service members to learn more about why working for Alaska and Horizon could be the right decision for them.
The company will be offering an abundance of information about employment options. This includes a corporate path focused on finance, supply chain, flight ops, IT and maintenance and engineering.
Representatives will also be talking about the front-line option, which features customer service, ground service, aircraft maintenance, reservations and flight attendants. They’ll offer interactive stations to help people learn firsthand what it’s like to work in these positions.
Visitors will have the chance to sign up for the company’s database, which allows them to be notified about potential job openings and information.
The conference center will be broken into three sections. The first will provide broad information about the company. The second will showcase how Alaska and Horizon will prepare employees, if offered a position. The final one is meeting with recruiters to have resumes reviewed. All of the sections will be running simultaneously.
Camo2Commerce will also be attending the event to help transitioning service members.
