Don’t sweat your Independence Day barbecue. These recipes are quick and simple and can be easily modified to feed your guests, no matter how large your party. The recipes below are designed to serve about four adults.
Turkey Club Burgers
1 pound ground turkey
8 slices bacon, cooked to desired crispiness
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 buns, toasted
Tomato slices
Romaine lettuce
Mayonnaise
Mix ground turkey, poultry seasoning, liquid smoke, salt and pepper. Divide meat into four even portions and form into patties. Place patties on the grill and cook until done, approximately 5-7 minutes per side. Serve burgers on toasted buns, topped with bacon, lettuce and tomato.
Home-made Oven Fries
4 baking potatoes
2 tablespoons steak grill seasoning
2 tablespoons olive oil
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Slice potatoes into thick fries. Drizzle with oil and toss with seasoning. Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until fries are tender and golden.
Grilled Veggies
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 bunch asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 large zucchini, cut into chunks
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Toss ingredients together until well coated with oil and seasoning. Place in the center of a sheet of foil, then wrap into a packet. Place on grill for 3 to 5 minutes until veggies are tender, but still crisp.
